It Can Be a Step Before Face-to-Face Observation: If a business decides to go forward with a face-to-face observation of participants, a diary study can be an excellent step to take before that. Even though a business will already know many things about its target demographic, a diary study probes into every area of this demographic and ensures nothing is missed.Ħ. Allows Businesses to Know the Population: A diary study promises a business that they will know the population their product will be launched into very well. Time is usually a limitation in interviews for example, but time isn’t an issue with diary studies.ĥ. Moreover, even if extensive research has already been conducted by the business using other methods, the diary study highlights phenomena that participants may not have brought up before. But, participants who are using the product for a long time will be able to bring forward perspectives and issues the business might have neglected. Usually, only the pressing issues are focussed on, which is only natural. During tightly controlled research, it can be difficult to pay attention to every aspect of the product. Highlights Topics You Wouldn’t Have Considered: Diary studies shed a light on aspects of a product the business may not have thought of before. Diary studies paired with first-click testing can provide excellent data.Ĥ. This triggers creative feedback that is extensive. But, with a diary study, they have the time and absence of pressure to express themselves. How many times has your mind suddenly gone blank when asked a question, even when you know the answer well? That’s how some participants may feel during an interview. Removes Time Pressure for Participants: Diary studies give participants the time to really process and think about their experience with the product. Since participants will be interacting with the product in various situations, this is a surefire way of figuring out if there are any drawbacks to the commodity.ģ. Businesses that are nervously anticipating how their product will be used and enjoyed in a natural context can ease their tension by using one of the most thorough research methods. Real-World Usage: Diary studies help researchers learn how their product will perform in the real world, prior to its launch. Other research methods aren’t able to effectively capture how time influences user experience, but the longitudinal nature of diary studies counters this issue.Ģ. For example, the time it takes for an app to load, or how frequently information is updated on a website. Temporal dynamics refers to the ways in which the passage of time affects the user experience. While the ways in which diary studies differ from the rest might already sound impressive, there are other key factors that make this method stand out.ġ. This makes it a much more engaging process for them. Participant Engagement: Participants are actively involved in the data collection process and can also decide what they deem worthy of recording in their diaries. Minimizes Recall Bias: Since participants can record their experiences in real-time, they are never put in a position where they have to remember something and relay it to a researcher much later on.ĥ. The data highlights the variability of experiences, and the data is uninfluenced by the artificiality of a lab or survey setting.Ĥ. Ecological Validity: To piggyback off our previous point, since diary studies capture data from a real-world setting, they have high ecological validity. Authentic feelings and thoughts are recorded in their own words, exempting the possibility of a researcher leaving out or editing notes.ģ. Outside the confines of an interview room, participants revert back to less conscious versions of themselves. Naturalistic Data: Participants record data in a real-world setting. Diary studies on the other hand can last for a few months, offering researchers a complete understanding of consumer behaviour.Ģ. Typically, qualitative research methods such as interviews or surveys are limited to a few hours, at the most. Longitudinal Data: This study yields data over a period of time. What Makes Diary Studies Different Compared to Other Research Methods?ġ. These are the questions we strive to answer in this article. There are so many data collection methods out there, but what sets diary studies apart from the rest? While we know its open-ended qualitative nature yields rich data, what else does this study offer?

You can simply right-click an empty area in the tab bar section and choose reopen closed tabs. If you simply clicked the wrong pixel and closed a tab you didn't mean to, it's easy to restore. Here's a few ways you can easily restore closed tabs in Chrome if this ever happens to you. Luckily Google Chrome remembers your web page browsing history, and regardless of what went wrong you should be able to fully recover. You're not the first person this has happened to, and you won't be the last. Or, to no fault of your own, Chrome decides to crash on you for no apparent reason. You're working on notes, emails, switching tabs, everything is going great… until disaster strikes: you accidentally click the wrong pixel and the tab you needed disappears without warning. You have no idea how you got there, but you're there now and that's all that matters.? Mind you, textbooks often come out in multiple editions, and a quick win is to be aware of how recently the edition you’re reading appeared on the market. Very little else differentiates them, except for some signature that has been applied to them by the author or publisher. Other than that, they’re remarkably similar - pages stuck between two covers with a spine. When it comes right down to it, the only real difference is that someone has called a textbook a textbook. While we are on the topic of this historic and iconic AA figure, I'll share one of my personal experiences with ol' Abe. I remember learning about the "F" lip movement when I first started to work on animatronic heads and always thought that was cool. Lincoln's mouth is now able to form vowels such as "O"." Their parts are used for the C.O.P family. One (somewhat) redeeming part of this story is the fact that these figures are not completely abandoned. Only the outer portion with seating rotates. Remember, the center portion of the building is stationary. Under these stages are pie-shaped maintenance and storage rooms. The Carousel of Progress in it's round building is divided into 6 pie-shaped pieces- one for each of the 4 acts plus 2 small stages for load and unload. Yep, in the basement of the C.O.P building directly under one of the stages. Where are they now? These naked animatronics are piled up under The Carousel of Progress. To officially get this series going, we present to you some abandoned animatronic figures from our favorite futuristic adventure, Horizons (a ride abandoned only long enough to pull up the wrecking ball). New special events with 2 wild Nissan challengesNew limited-time Nissan track through TokyoTwo brand new Nissan cars: the Juke Nismo and Juke-R Changes Hopefully, these glitches will be fixed in future updates.Įven with these minor flaws, Asphalt 7: Heat is up there with the best racing games for iOS, thanks to its pristine graphics and huge gameplay. For instance, you can find yourself just driving 'through' another car or barrier. It's unfortunate that, at least with the version we tried, there were a few graphical and collision detection issues with Asphalt 7: Heat. Races in Asphalt 7: Heat are thrilling to say the least, and the inclusion of collectible items and insane nitros makes it all the more enjoyable. It works very well, but if you want to change the controls in Asphalt 7: Heat you can, and there are four systems to choose from. The default control system is based around tilting your device to steer, tapping the left of the screen to brake and the right side to apply nitros. Playing Asphalt 7: Heat is a real delight, not least because of its fluid control system. There are 15 different stunningly-recreated city and countryside courses set in a diverse range of locations including Hawaii, London, Havana, Tokyo, LA, The Alps, and Reykjavik. The cars look awesome, but it's the backdrops that really take your breath away in Asphalt 7: Heat. Graphically, Asphalt 7: Heat is without doubt the best of the series so far, and the visuals are as good as anything on the iOS platform to date, including Firemint's Real Racing 2. You can even race in the DeLorean from the Back to the Future movies! Vehicles are tiered in seven sets of similarly-powered cars, ranging from the likes of the Mini and Range Rover in the first tier, to supercars such as the Ferrari FFX and Bugati Veyron in the upper tier. The range of vehicles you can unlock in Asphalt 7: Heat is impressive. Better still, enter the Multiplayer mode and you'll be able to battle it out against a friend over Bluetooth/WiFi, or take on up to 5 others online. If you want a less structured game mode, try Quick Play, where you can enter any kind of race, in any location, racing with any of the vehicles that you've unlocked. As is the norm with Gameloft games these days, you can purchase stars to 'fast-track' your progress in the game. Progress through the career mode in Asphalt 7: Heat is based around earning money and star points to level up and unlock cars and races. The gameplay in each of these is different enough to keep your interest levels high. There are different kinds of races within Asphalt 7: Heat, including Normal, Drift, Elimination, Beat 'Em All, Paint Job, and King of the Hill. There are 13 cups to be unlocked in total, each consisting of four different races. Career mode in Asphalt 7: Heat sees you attempt to progress through a series of cup competitions. Idina Menzel is on top form once again with her vocals and is given the chance to flourish with two solos well deservedly. Having said that, all of the vocals in the piece are flawless. Did the world need a ‘Seven Nation Army/ Whatta Man’ mash-up? It feels a little messy, and further choices just don’t seem to fit very well within the storyline. The choice of songs in the musical are a little strange. Cabello puts in an excellent performance vocally and has some comedic moments to try and distinguish her from previous Cinderella’s. Acaster - as one of the mice - has a particularly humorous scene when he is adapting to being temporarily changed to a human.Ĭamilla Cabello takes on the role of Cinderella or in this case Ella, and she manages to add a bit of feistiness and grit to the character in what feels like a very ‘millennial’ way. Pierce Brosnan and Minnie Driver are excellent as the King and Queen, really carrying the scenes that they are in Beverley Knight makes a wonderful cameo as Queen Tatiana comedians James Acaster, Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett get to show off their acting abilities and whilst a little reigned in from their usual performance, they are funny and add to the scenes they are in. The cast assembled is a flurry of Hollywood and British household names and they manage to make the characters at least slightly interesting. Having Cinderella wanting to become a dressmaker and forge her own career instead of simply accepting her place in society is an excellent addition to the story. The film has attempted to take a very familiar tale and put a new spin on it, and whilst to some degree it does add interesting plot advances, it struggles to find its own identity. Written and directed by Kay Cannon, the film is produced by James Corden. This film will certainly not be everyone’s cup of tea. The winning outfit was the Yin Yang Fantasy by Mahak Bhatia, Manvi Goel and Harshit Sharma, The Astria Dress by Disha Gupta and Nishita Singhal were the first runners-up and Avyanna by Rohit Mane and Sanskriti Jha were declared the second runners-up.There is only one word to describe the new Cinderella now premiering on Amazon Prime and that is unique. Out of the many that participated, top 3 were selected unanimously by the faculty of Pearl Academy and Elle Magazine’s Fashion Editor. This Pan-India activity saw participation in hundreds, where they were tasked with creating their version of the Classic Cinderella Outfit by retaining the feminine colour of the outfit, yet represent strength, fearlessness and comfort in their version. In a unique collaboration with Pearl Academy to create modern day costumes for the modern day Cinderella, students across various faculties of Fashion Design, Fashion Styling & Image Design, Fashion Media communication from Pearl Academy Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Bangalore created the costumes for the new-age Cinderella. The special series resonated with the women of today, as the campaign recorded a cumulative reach of 1.3M+ across 4 episodes.Īssociation with Pearl Academy and engagement with fashion designing students As part of the collaboration, ‘She The People’ featured inspiring journeys of Journalist Faye D Souza, Comedian Supriya Joshi, Superbiker Neharika Yadav, and athlete Dutee Chand in a 4 episode series talking about their life and journeys mirroring the one that Cinderella’s protagonist leads. To celebrate this spirit, Amazon Prime Video partnered with leading lifestyle and women’s portal ‘She The People’ to celebrate India's Cinderellas. With that, the recent modern day rendition of Cinderella brought this to the forefront - a rebellious, change seeking Cinderella. As we see the society progress, we see its reflection in the narratives of the films - especially the way women are perceived in the real world.
I do single codebase development where the same C/C++ code will build on Linux, Windows, MacOS, BSD and Solaris. Not to deliver a Windows build on an embedded system, rather for testing and QA of the same embedded system codebase in Windows with access to the superb Microsoft Visual Studio debugger and its excellent static code checker that detects memory overruns.Īlthough libunistd was predominately written by me, appreciate any good bug fixes, patches or pull requests. Libunistd is being used for safety-critical Linux embedded systems. Libunistd later moved from SourceForge to github and has been continuously improved, with more and more BSD and System V calls added. CinePaint is an open source HDR paint application used in making motion pictures, including the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings films. Libunistd was originally created to port Linux CinePaint to Windows in 2002. Similar for Qdecoder, Sqlite and xxHash, however you should check their license terms yourself as libunistd is not the owner of these other open source libraries. In other words, you may do pretty much whatever you want with libunistd. Uuid: A small unique identifier library created elsewhere. XxHash: A small hash library created elsewhere. Sqlite: A small SQL library created elsewhere. Qdecoder: A small HTTP library created elsewhere. Portable: System classes, such as StdFile that encapsulates the standard FILE* C API into a C++ class with constructors and destructors. Libunistd has some additional small libraries that are not POSIX, but can be useful to those of us developing cross-platform code. Look up in the Linux man page the "unknown" function and include all the header files that the Linux man page says it requires. If you port Linux code to FreeBSD or Mac OS X, you may have encountered this before, that the compiler sometimes objects to unknown POSIX functions. As a result, sometimes Linux code will compile that's not strictly legit, that it hasn't explicitly included all necessary header files. In Linux, some standard headers include other standard header files. When porting your Linux program to Windows for the first time, you may have to include more POSIX headers than were necessary in your Linux code. It implements many other header files that are POSIX standards, including pthreads.h. Simply write C++ code as you would for Linux, and it should build in Visual Studio for Windows. Avoid #ifdef _WIN32 ugliness in your code. Because unistd.h exists in Linux as a standard header file, making this change for Windows will not break Linux code. Doing this will include the magic to make basic Linux APIs work in Windows. There are typical grinding ones for exp/money/weapons and items for both the early game and late game. Though, it is known as the black sheep of the FE series for a reason, so don't expect it to be super tactical (especially if you've played Conquest).ĭLC wise, the only ones I would really recommend are the story based Deliverance ones and the Cipher character ones (and of course the free ones cause they are free lol). If you like jrpgs, you'll like this one (probably). Also by any chance does this game have any online battle modes or street pass functions or has that also been disabled as well? Is it a good idea to pick up Echoes SOV alongside with the DLC packs that it offers and possibly extra amiibo features that it has included for better grinding and gold farming or is it better to just get the game by itself and then buy the DLC after I beat Echoes and the story mode of it? Some help would be super appreciated for a Fe semi-noob like me. I have already heard that the story, music and graphics are god-like, thankfully without spoilers, which is harder to come by lol. Fe Echoes SOV has weirdly caught my eye’s attention these past few days, since I have been craving something of an Fe based game that has different gameplay style and combat mechanics as opposed to Fates and Awakening which I have already beaten more than twice, and since I find the item finding or the quests to be a bit tedious to complete in 3H, I wanted to check out whether how good or how amazing is Echoes SOV really is in terms of combat mechanics, battle system. |
